Default Short Eastern MA Rides

Weekend weather looks amazing for riding, and I'm seeking some short rides in eastern MA that I can do by myself (other riders welcome, as none of my riding friends are available!). I looked on the New England Motorcycle Riders page for options, but their Eastern MA RIMBY GoogleMap links are dead.

I live about 5 miles north of Boston, right off of 93, but can only go out for maybe 3 hours either day as I have an 11-month-old puppy, plus my Slim isn't the most comfortable for super long rides. Would love to hear your suggestions. Thanks!

I like to ride north, take Rt 1 up through Topsfield to Newburyport area. But that is sometimes traffic heavy in the summer.

Another route I like in the summer is head up 93 to 62 and ride 62 through Wilmington, Burlington, Bedford to Concord. Sometimes stray off to other roads in the Concord area through Carlisle. Nice ride, not much traffic usually. Round trip takes about 2-3 hours.

Thanks! I reached out to the NER group on Facebook and got an updated GoogleMap for the RIMBY but it's definitely a ride to do with a GPS. I'm investigating aftermarket options for my Slim as I'd like to do it one weekend. Love the suggestion of Route 62; I'm right by Roosevelt Circle in Medford so getting there is a snap. I'll also look into Route 2A and go through Minuteman National Park.

I ride 2A all the time too. My father in law lives on the Woburn/Lexington line so I am around there. I have relatives in Groton, so I ride up that way too. There is some great riding up through Westford, Pepperell, Dunstable, etc...

I agree 62 through Concord is really nice. One of my favorite rides is 225 from Bedford all the way up to Groton. I live in Billerica and that is a route I ride frequently. 127 from Beverly to Rockport is also one I've done a bunch of times with friends. It follows the coast the whole way. Lots of other bikes out on this route too. The 1A ride is cool too but as mentioned before traffic gets heavy as you get close to the beaches further north.

Yeah I ride Beverly/Rockport sometimes, really like the scenery in Manchester. I usually wait until fall to do those rides just because of the coast/beach traffic.

West on rt 2 is great this time of year. Lots of smaller roads off shoot 2 at various points for good rides and no beach/tourist traffic.

I'm from the Worcester area. Try riding around the quabbin area or out towards the Mohawk Trail. Just give it a google search brother and it will pop up. Ride Safe.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!
