Like CTSBOB said, the Vietnam Traveling Wall is coming to Cheshire. We are all gonna meeton TUESDAY, October 30, at the ConnecticutGrand Hotel (next door to Costco on the Cheshire / Waterbury town line) at 10:AM, and departing at 11:00 SHARP! I know it's a work day, but IMHO, our veterans, past, present and future, deserve all the respect, honor and support we can give them!
If you have any questions, shoot me an e-mail. I'd like to meet at Dunkin' Donuts (near 7-11) for a hot one (COFFEE) around 9:am before heading up to the hotel. So far we have 10 riders from town going. They are looking for at least 612 riders, to represent each soldier that died in 'Nam. Wouldwelcome any of you to join us! There will be an escort by the Connecticut State Police and local Police departments.
HERE'S HOW TO GET THERE: To get to the Grand Hotel, take Exit 25A off I-84 East or West. Go north off either ramp (that's right if you went west or left if you went east on I-84) to the 1st light which is East Main. Take a right and the Grand Hotel will be on the right less than a quarter mile down the road.
Just stopping by, new member in Stratford. I never get off the bike and wont until it snows. I typically ride to work in norwalk and then all over the state when I have time. -Pat
Stamford, eh? That's where I work (Editor-in-Chief of American Iron Magazine) most days.
I ride most of the year, and so does most of our staff. But you can't look in our parking lot as we often are riding the secret bikes for next year so we can review them in time to get them in print when they are introduced to the public.
Plenty of great riding in Connecticut, but you usually have to get out of the bigger cities and head north or west.
And for dwg dave in Mansfield - Go Huskies - my alma mater. I played soccerfor UConn in the mid 1970s.
Great to see another UCONN fan here, love riding around the collage looking at the honies even though I'm old enough to be their father. I've been here 20 years, unbelivable change to the campus, now their tearing down the plaza across from E.O. Smith for a upscale development.
Located in North Madison.....several of us ride, usually up CT River, or into Litchfield, or, simply along the shoreline. If interested, PM me. I know it's late in the season, however, you never know we may still get a few more good days.
Mat from Meriden here. I just found this thread and just moved to Meriden a few months ago. Formerly from the Danbury area (Redding). I can say good things about Danbury Harley (always good to me), Bridgeport Harley (found the parts I needed), and Yankee HD in Bristol (parts in stock and willing to help). Always looking for a group to ride with. Don't really know the roads in Meriden too well. I know it's also a little late, being as Channel 3 is calling for snow in the next couple days, but once things warm up...
