Channel 3 is calling for snow in the next couple days, but once things warm up...
Gotta admit, once we pass the point where the high temperature for the day doesn't reach 45, I'm pretty much done. I stop riding to work once the morning temps drop below 40. My bike is in the shop right now anyway, getting some winter upgrades.
Not too many nice roads in Meriden, but plenty of nice roads leading out of Meriden
I hear ya on that, much rather be on some of the twisties out by my parent's place. Yeah, those morning temps are dipping pretty low. Call me what you will, I generally don't ride much below 50 degrees. Bike's in my garage for a little TLC too right now.
Hey welcome to the forum! I work in Wallingford, and once a year the few bikers I work with take Rt 68 east to 17 south, then 79 south to 80 east to 81 south into Clinton to Rt 1 and grab dinner, usually in Westport. It is a nice route to head down to the shore from where you are. I recommend sitting outside on the patio at "Bill's seafood" by the singing bridge in Westbrook.
I know I`m a little off subject, but did anyone here deal with Cycles Unlimited on Main St in Portland?Or know what happened to Matt?
I`ve been going to Matt for a few years, and he has always taken good care of me.We drive by last night, and the place is empty, with 'for rent' signs in the windows.
I`m hoping he just moved.
Just in case he`s all done, anyone reccomend a good bike shop in central CT.
I know of Cycles Unlimited (been by there many times) but don't know anything about what happened or where he may have moved.I can recommend an indy shop on Route 44 in Canton called Motorcycle City. That may be farther than you'd like to travel, but they do great work. Call and talk to George.

Where about on RT 44.Thats not far from me at all.
I work in Meriden and grew up in Redding... Nice area and some great roads out of the area. 5 minutes out of Meriden and your heading tword some great riding.

They're at 272 Albany Tpke (Rte 44) in Canton. Plug that address into your favorite mapping software. Heading west, that's on the left just beyond the green and Canton Village. There's no sign for Motorcycle City out on the road, just a sign on the building, so it's easy to miss. The shop is directly below the European Car, which does have a sign out on the road. If you get to the light at East Hill Road, you've gone too far. Call and talk to George at 860-693-3600 and tell him I sent ya. My bike's there right now gettingacam and top end re-build.
