Just a fair warning if you live in the Camden County area of southern NJ. I took my 2007 Dyana into the only Camden County HD dealership to have its 1000 check up. The weather during the past two weeks have been crappy so not much riding. Today I took my bike out for a ride and started smelling oil. I pulled over and shut the bike down and did a visual inpsection only to find the oil drain plug ready to fall out.Thank goodness I had some esential tools and snugged the plug up. I immediately call the dealer ( lets just call her Barbs"s) and you know what they told me? They said " we are sorry and thanks for calling". WTF! Harley Davidson wants us to take our bikes to their dealers, but their dealers can remember to snug up the oil plug. I would have felt better taking my bike to Jiffy Lube. I sit and wonder what could have happened it I didnt pull over. Now I know why I change my own car oil and will now do my Bike.
I'd be in there tommorow getting in the face of the service manager. Stupid things like this should not slip by their techs so easily..................
Wow I can't believe I am reading this, Im in denial totally!!! I live in Staten Island NY 78 miles away from Barb's Harley Davidson and I bought my last two bikes there and have traveled from my home to her dealership just to do business and because i like them so much and totally trust them, they have serviced both bikes since new I would'nt thinlk twice to reccomending them to anyone! From Barb the owner,Jay J. the finance manager, and Mike the service manager, man I never had a problem and I would still be going there but I sold my bike an 05 Road King and am in the market for a new one and my local dealer is beating her new bike deal so Ill buy here.Man talk to Mike in service, and or directly to Barb she will make it right, ++it happens and it did when I once went to another NJ dealer he also left the plug loose and when I got home there was oil drops a few on the garage floor thge next day!! So sh** does happen!! Bill SINY
I've dealt with Barbs for years, The parts team is top notch. I've had them wait for me 1/2 hour after they've closed...... for me to get a part i needed to make a run the next day. Their techs have a reputation as being the best in the area. Your story surprises me
Man Im dying to hear yer story like I said I travel over 70 Miles to buy bikes, accessories and get service work! Do tell your woes brother Im here! Bill
i had my powercommander installed at my local hd dealership after i installerd the pipes, and when i picked it up it looked like a real clean installation...... but one night when we were trying to beat a t storm, it decided to slide into the back of my motor and leave me stranded.(later on i came to find out it was only tucked back behind my battery) when i called them to come pick it up they said they didnt have any drivers left and id have to wait til tomorrow. my buddy gave me a ride home to get my trailer and i left that sob right in front of the dealers service bay door with the forks locked and alarm set with a very nice note explaining to them why they would have to call me in the a.m. so the moral of the story is, "just because they sell harleys doesnt mean the dealer is competent to fix them"
