Trying to plan a trip to the erie lake from newark DE. \\; Right now the plan is me and my girl. \\; The plan is to head up to Laport Pennsylvania then catch up to rt 6 and head out visiting any harley dealership on the way. \\; Has anyone travled this route and know of any good places to stop and stay out in western PA? \\;
I have done Rt6 accross Pa. three times now. Very nice trip.
Get into Eire PA. and stop at the sea food restaurant on the waterfront.
Rt 6 is a scenic byway.
Rode rt.6 last week. I live in Berwick, pa. There is a lot of construction and detours from about couldesport west to the dam. Route 6 has many cheap, clean motels. A few less restuarants. In Wellsboro motel prices are double what you find outside this town. A suggestion\\; you are probably looking at 220 to Laport. There are two nice roads acessed from \\;I-80. At buckhorn, directly across from light is Rt.44. This will take you along state forests \\;to Sweden Valley, next to Couldesport. Slow down at twisties.
Another beautiful ride is I-80 to Lock Haven. Take 120 to St. Mary. One of the prettiest rides you'll find. \\;
Heading out to York Pa from ohio thrusday morning and was planning to come back rt 6 on sunday and monday also looking for any suggestions and more info on the road construction and how bad it is and what part of the route it is.
Just went there, Stayed in Mansfield and visited the Grand Canyon and rode Rt 6. Pretty nice, but not what I expected. Next time I'll go further west. We went up Rt 100 and 309 to Tunkhannock and then west on 6. Had to share the rd with some trucks around there. Further west it got better. Coming home we came down Rt 15 to Rt 11 and then Rt 322 to around Lancaster. If I evber go back I will go that way again. Some construction right now, but we went on Saturday and they weren't working and we got through it quickly.
Ride Safe.
