I shipped mine to Mean City Cycles and they did a great job. I am in NH and do not know of anybody locally. Sorry.
I've seen that a bunch of times. So how does it work? Call them, fill out the form and print, head to UPS to ship, pay them the cost + return shipping price, then wait? What sort of turn around time would you think we're looking at here?
You got it pretty much. Call them, get a date. Ship the seat in such a way that it arrives before your appointment date, they modify and ship it back pretty much right away.
Turn around is probably a week and a half. Maybe less if you use faster shipping methods and pay for it...
An appointment might be mid summer at this point though. Best to call ASAP.

If you do not want to wait they have a thing where you pay an extra $100 and they will stay after hours and do yours in 1 day. That gets pricey though when you figure the shipping of your seat is $30 to $50 one way.. Atleast mine was. They are super busy so if you are thinking about doing it I would call now and you probably get a date in June or July if you do not opt for the extra $100 deal...

I also shipped to mean city for rework on my deluxe seat. You schedule your work ahead of time, and just need to make sure they have the seat in their hands the day before your work is scheduled to start. Depending on what your having done they'll likely be able to finish the work in one day and then immediately ship it back to you. If you wanted to pay extra for overnight shipping both ways I would bet you could have them rework it without loosing more than 2-3 days of riding.
Just as the title says, I'm looking to shave my stock pan down so my short legs can get a bit closer to the ground.
Had a great local place in Alabama and now I'm looking to find a nice local place up here. I'm located on the MA/NH line near the seacoast.
I had mine done at Seamless Custom which is located in Leicester, MA. Justin does great work and is reasonably priced. Check out my photo album to see his work:
