Happens all the time, people mistakenly post in the wrong thread due to the related topics feature.
All the HD bikes, except sportsters & street models have 3 separate lubrications systems
1) Motor. Use your favorite HD recommended motor oil. Yes, in some cases early M8s can sump, where the oil pump doesn’t pull up enough oil. The issue is rare, but can be prevented with the latest HD oil pump
2) Transmission. Use Your favorite HD recommended lube.
2) Primary. Use your favorite primary fluid. IMHO if ATF was best, HD would put an HD label on some. Even though the primary and tyranny are separate, under certain conditions the primary can suck transmission oil into itself. An HD vent kit can be installed to prevent this.
