A friend of mine got out hospital recently after accident in intersection. He survived head injury and is mostly alright. Please people wear a helmet when riding. Thanks.
My shoei saved my life 4 weeks ago. Im a believer but we each have to make our own decisions.
I agree. A helmet saved me a couple years ago. All I had head wise was a brain bleed that lasted a couple weeks.
That said, we all are responsible for our own decisions and the results of those decisions.
I'm cool with someone like the OP saying please wear a lid.
What I'm not cool with is someone else trying to dictate to me regarding anything and that includes helmet usage. Let those who ride, decide.
I used to wear a FF all the time. Which I think is a good idea for new riders. After 10 years I switched to a Bell 500. Before I rode, I couldn't understand why people wouldn't wear a helmet. Now I get it, it feels great. And we would all be safer driving a Volvo, so whatever people want to do, I'm ok with whatever they are comfortable with.
My son is a paramedic. Whenever I'm tempted to not wear a helmet I think about the Harley rider he picked up, that had crashed at 30 mph. His brains were oozing out of his ears. That image motivates me to put on my helmet.
Georgia has a helmet law and I'm just as glad of it. Florida, does not require a helmet and when I'm in FL, I will occasionally rider through Main Street, or up and down A1A, but if I'm on the interstate or running highway speeds on a two lane, I'll wear a lid. But I agree; it's up to you. I do!
I know some of you guys think helmet laws are great but it isn't what freedom is all about. If one day they decide to just outlaw bikes period because they're just plain old not safe no matter how you dice or slice it you'll know how it all started. You agreed with having other peoples rights violated.
