So had some time to put my volt meter on all the leads. I get nothing at idle or rev on the generator posts or out of the regulator... think both are toast?

So my uncle suggested I do a alternator conversion on the pan. Anyone done this before, or should I just replace the 12 generator and the regulator? I really want to start riding again, but not if in just gonna kill the battery after each ride.

Might consider these folks and then looks at some others for price comparison. You can set up account and order from them. Used them 2X now; their pricing isn't too bad on some products.

They carry a big selectioon of on-line ordering from various companies, one bieng V-Twin (you cannot order direct from Ted either)

The V-twin part for the CE generator is 32-7526 (pg 690 in the 2019 catalog); price is $381

The V-twin part for the CE regulator end cap 32-7768 (pg 690 in the 2019 catalog): price is $203
