What's on my 66 and it had a set on it when I bought it but I chucked them due to age. I don't think my AVON's are going to unravel while cruising down the road at 50MPH. If Stinko can sell tires without killing people then I think you're safe on these. As for front and rear I don't know. You would think the rear takes more punishment than the front so logic would say its better than it needs to be on the front? Its not like the front has outstanding braking causing a sidewall failure.

I bought maybe 50 of them last year from real collectables to knuckle / pan bobbers that went to LA from jersey as a bucket list thing

my shovel FLH I own i fell safe at 65MPH all day long and have run at 75 to beat the rain

Thanks John and Paul. Next money spent will be on the front/rear tires.

Yes, basically doing a catch up to where I am at (where I came from) and trying to lay it all out. It will be period correct but unfortunatrely not totally "1965" correct. Sidecar frame is 1959, triple trees (still to post pics of) are 1960-1964.

For the seat I am going to use is one my pop gave me and not the later "buddy' seat common to Pans and Shovels. I redid it and seat support for the year will be correct; the seat itself...not so much. Had it done by Worsham Castle as a tribute to my pop. He did the seat on my 49 Pan and IMO he is the best of the best on the old seats. He doesn't do the later buddy seats tho. Think Heathers Leathers will redo the later ones. Have a stamped 1965 seat.

As mentioned earlier the tanks are not correct. Not worrying about colors on them just doing your basic black.

Guessing on a lot of the nuts and bolts and such. All I have are pics and the finishes from 1964 (Palmers book). Figure I can get it close. Word is is that Bruce is working on the 1965 models as well as the 1936 models. Lots of changes on both ends. That said, at age 72, I am not content with waiting for his next up date.

Bit of luck I should have the bike running by the end of summer. Then spend the fall breaking it in and attaching the sidecar the end of next year. Hopefully by then I will have found a useable windshield, stainless trim for the sidecar body, and the seat.

Thanks for posting photos of the frame and swingarm. On the swingarm, forging number 47614-58A, left die number 8, run number H7 and R-H die number 33 are consistent with a 65 model although there can be some variation in the combination of numbers—for example, another swingarm I have photos of has the same forging number and left die number as yours but its other numbers are H4 and 27.
Another 65 model has H3 and 28 but the bike has a low SN.

Outside your R-H axle clip is hallmark Q with WF inside but I don’t know which company those letters represent.

You posted a pic of the trees, Im interested to see a closeup and understand how they are adjustable.

I wish I had the time to work on mine daily, takes longer for me but Im still aiming for this summer as well. Still lots to do and it'll be spring before I know it.

I see pics of the trees but looking forward to seeing a closeup and understanding how they're adjustable. Also why you have to change the angle with a sidecar.
