std panhead push rod question broke

std panhead push rod question broke
I have a std panhead road it for 38 miles stoped at the light and went to take of and ran like **** I saw the pushrod jumpin around pulled the chrome sleeve and my push rod was bent and broke. Oil shot all over my bike? Anyone know what causes that???

lots of push rods are sold by tiwan tedd ( V TWIN ) and are at best junk china
i would buy an andrews set in moly steel - forget the alloy ones and anything that is not made in the USA -- originals are a choice as well but you did not say if your chopper is stroked with stock length barrels

THIS IS A GUESS __ you might have an issue with the valve springs and or a valve guide sticking i dont know but usually they just dont bend for no reason

Check the cam followers and make sure you didn't break one. You do not want all of those little bearings in your engine.
