Is there any painters that can actually match the factory Harley denim black I’ve seen several painters in my area just didn’t match I can’t believe nobody can match it After it’s been out so long I’m looking preferably in Midwest like Chicago if possible ?
Try John Deere Blitz black in a spray can. Some members have used it here with great results. You can buy it at any John Deer dealer. There is one in Homer Glen near Orland Park. You may want to try powder coat too. There is a shop in Chicago Heights that does work for Chi Town HD dealership. The shop is called Coating Specialties. They did my stuff. Both paint options are more durable than Harley's **** denim paint.
Second on the Blitz Black from JD. I also had a body shop near me I trust do my bags and lids and took them 2 tries but its spot on. 1st they sprayed them flat and looked perfect until matched up to bike. 2nd time was sprayed matte and was a perfect match.
I just bought a few cans from JD two days ago. I don’t know what the hell they did but the paint no longer matches. It used to be a dead match. I had an older (not used) can I sprayed my lowers with and it was spot on. I also bought 2 cans last year to touch up my wife’s bike (because it sat for four years while we lived on mainland Japan). Her gas went bad and I acid washed her tank. Luckily I found an old can to touch it up. I’m a bit disappointed because I shook that dam can for about 1/2 hr before using it on another job. It has a gloss to it now. Anybody have this issue as well?

Well that's a bummer because i just bought two cans to do some parts....
Did you get the yellow labeled cans? Those are the two new ones i bought. I did see one of the white labeled cans on ebay that i believe are older so i bought it in case ...they only had one though....also to note both types of cans have exactly the same part/color number???
Well I think I found what appears to be the older style cans online as well...ordered a couple there and cancelled the first order...still have the one coming from ebay as well....we shall see what I end up with lol
H-D's spray cans of Black Denim are a dead on match, you can paint a saddlebag lid and put it on a factory bottom and not notice any color difference, even the texture is correct. There aren't many paint colors that Harley makes that are worth trying, but they seem to get the black colors right. Black Denim looks like it's going to be a dimply mess when you spray it, but it lays right down as it dries. This does not apply to their quart size paints, the black denim color comes out pretty accurate, but does not lay down in the right texture using H-D activator and denim clear as recommended, and it doesn't look right.

Well I've got the JD Blitz (original cans/white label) that many say are dead on...I think I'll go for one can of the HD black and see which works better. I've heard so many mixed reviews for the HD paint...some say it's dead on, others say it's not even close......I guess I'll find out lol
