Anybody have any insight as to when HD plans to release the paint or paint composition for their new 2012 paints? I have a an inner fairing that needs hit with Big Blue Pearl!
Go to a auto body painters supply store, were pro body shops get there stuff from. They can mix any factory color paint for you. Way cheaper than getting from HD. I almost sure PPG makes it for HD and they put their own label on it. Some higher end body shops can mix it up too if they have the PPG mixing system. All you need is the year and the name of the color, a code can help. But most better suppliers will only need the yr. to track down the color.
A have a pro shoot that fairing for you. He know were to get the right stuff. This is not a DIY job if you haven't got the experience. It take more know how than using a rattle can.
OK so my ppg peeps got back to me on this color it is a tricoat paint you have to paint a black base and the mid coat is special ordered from ppg in a factory pack only. Comes in pints only and costs $265.00. Hope this helps if ya need some I can get ya hooked up
How much paint goes on a typical bike? Obviously there's some variation in size, but is there a quantity you'd say is typical? Or even if you had a feel for how much for a Sportster model, Touring, etc?
