Your painter did not cure the paint enough, otherwise it would not smell. I would not bolt it on yet, all the pressure points will push the paint away causing it to lift! Do not lean the paint against the car seat for longer than a few minutes as it may leave an imprint on the paint surface! I would put the parts outside under the sun to cure over the weekend. To cure paint; you need heat (above 85F) and air movement.
At Colormania we bake all our paint jobs for 24 - 48 hours at very high temperatures (140F+). This form of Force Curing simulates 6 months of curing time under normal conditions. A costly process, but assures long-lasting shine & quality.
Boy, what paint you using? my PPG products only take 30min at 140 to fully cure
24-48 hours @140 is a bit excessive and a complete waste of energy and money.
you could deform the plastic inside of the vehicle at that temp for that long
and the glues would probably not hold up either.
and to leave a baking booth unattended at night is kinda crazy also but I guess that's what the fire suppression is for. But maybe your operation is a 24/7 facility that never closes

No kidding , baking that long at that temp doesn't make sense to me.
Also your air movement point is false. The only Paint that needs air movement to dry is waterbased. the solvent has to dry from the inside out and if you skin it over by moving air over it will make the clear take even longer to harden. Another note on that is it is also a chemical reaction to harden clear not just evaporation.
That's why most people use IR lights to cure panels there is no fan just heat.
The only reason to have air movement is for safety because of fumes accumulating.
Got my tins back a month ago and they are sitting in my living room waiting to be installed. They were baked after painting so I could have installed them when I got them. Of course the high temp here today is about 29. Actually I have the whole bike minus the motor and trans in the living room and bedroom. LOL God I love being single. Good luck on your project.
