Im not one to go out and ask for help, but I've got a lot going on back home right now that I can't be there to deal with. Id really like it if you guys wouldn't mind sending out a prayer for my family. a week before I left for Iraq, I found out my mom has thyroid cancer. Since ive been gone, she hasn't really told me much about it, which I guess means its doing ok. I know she said they told her it wasnt spreading or growing or anything. Two days ago I found out my YOUNG Grandma was diagnosed with cancer. Im not sure what type yet, she needs to get more tests. and then today my Dad went in for a stress test and they told him he needs a heart cath on friday. I know it's weird for me to request prayer for my family when Im still new here, but I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
Benjamin,
Thanks for sharing that with us mate. All of us stand with you in prayer for your mum, dad and grandma. Also with you, for your safety in service. You may not be able to be here but the Lord knows no boundries and as helpless as you may feel to help....He will be here for you in your place. Not bad for the Creator of the universe! Yep!...He cares that much.

You are very welcome. In Australia we have a term that we call 'mateship'. For the most part, the word 'mate' is used between men only. It's a standing together in brotherhood. It's a real masculine term, man to man stuff. It's more important to us than patiotism.
Many in the US believe that we stand with America in war because we believe the same things politically. No so. In fact the average Aussie is so layed back that we could care less about who is fighting who over seas. But Americans are our 'mates.' That means we stand together at all times. If you guys are having a 'dust up', we are there for you, as you were for us in the 11WW.
You falla's had the Mayflower. We were a pack of convicts from England. That's why 'mateship' is so important to us. Some may think that this is over simplifying this, but not really.
I've worked in a lot of parts in Australia and the attitude is the same.
So Benjamin, when you ask for prayer here....your 'mates' are with you.
