In Gear, Won't Move.

My friends '04 Superglide will not do anything when put in gear. He was riding last night, shifted into 5th and said it didn't feel right. Anyhow, put it in gear, let the clutch out and nothing. The clutch feels fine to me.

Any ideas before he takes it to the stealership?

I just went through this same problem. The main drive pulley coming out of the tranny that drives the rear wheel belt has came loose and stripped the inside splines. The 1-7/8 nut that holds this pulley in place has probably backed off and let the pulley flop around and stripped the splines from inside the pulley. You will have to pull the primary cover, compensating sprocket,clutch & chain assembly. Then pull the inner primary cover to get to this sprocket.

i would agree with hank. i just had it happen to me last week. before you tear it down you should be able to see the front pulley wheel that the belt goes around and you will be able to reach it. now try to wiggle it if that wheel has come off or the nut came off it will wiggle a little and it should not at all.
