Starting to do the research now. Have 06, Ultra. Great bike!! Me- 6'4" - 230lbs. Passenger some of the time. Stock seat really not cutting it after 1 1/2-2hrs. What are your recommendations w.r.t. best seat for long haul, multi-day, touring. At present feel like my knees are around my ears, and my butt & lower back tiring after just a short time. So many options?? Thnx in advance. Bob
I ordered the Sundowner from Zanotti read lots of good things about it so I decided to try it. On the 05 Road King Custom I had I bought a Mustang one piece touring seat broke it in going to Sturgis. It is a great seat. I just decided to try the Sundowner on the FLFTCI.
Check out BAR Industries. I have their Hitchhiker seat on my Night Train, and I have put in over 7 hours (stopping for gas and food) at a stretch without any trouble. I got the Millenium Foam on the driver's portion. THe pillion is big and pillowy too, and you can get it made even wider for an upcharge.
There is only one way to go as far as Im concerned the HD Sundowner seat. I just put it on my 05 Road King about 600 miles ago at the suggestion of TOM the parts guru at "BARB"S CAMDEN COUNTY NJ HARLEY", he was right the best money I ever spent at the dealers. The seat is sooooo! comfortable, night and day difference from the stock Brick, I mean seat I love it you won't be sorry Bill
I have a RK with a Corbin Touring Seat. Its nice and comfortable when on the open road, but I found it very wide for around town riding. Makes my thighs wide apart and thus makes the seat height feel very high. I pealed back the leather and shaved down the foam where my thighs hit the seat. Helped around town, but I did give up a small amount of comfort when on the open road
