I'll throw another vote in for Vanson! I recently decided I was tired of wearing jackets that didn't fit right and ordered a custom fit HC Highwayman. I love that damn jacket, cost caused a bit of the 'pucker effect' but in the end I would say it was worth it. I think it may outlast the bike the way it's put together.

Since you like the old biker style, you should know that Mr. Langlitz created the biker jacket in 1947 and the above named companies have tried to copy it ever since. Most (if not all) have failed miserably and have no place being on a bike as a piece of safety gear. Simply laying a Langlitz next to any of the above named products will prove my point and you'll agree that there is only one motorcycle jacket made on this planet and the rest are simply cheap imitations. If you are one of the many that consider chaps as a piece of safety gear, please disregard this post in its entirety and buy the one that you think is cool.

I have a '69 Langlitz and am constantly told how much nicer my jacket is by the customers of the named companies.

Its your safety and your choice, choose carefully.

-Maynard

I'll second that. Wife just gave me this one for Christmas: http://www.foxcreekleather.com/6.html and I love it. Fantastic quality and the thing ways about 20 pounds. I've ridden in 30 degrees with only a short sleeve shirt on underneath and been warm.

ORIGINAL: DZLDR

Got my Xpert leather jacket from eagle leather in Tacoma Wa. www.eagleleather.com and love it. Kind of pricy but the darned thing weight 19 pounds. Figure I bought it to protect my butt incase I ever go down. has more zippers and storage than the bags on a geezer glide LOL.
That was my choice out of all the on-line jackets I found. I didn't like Harley's selection. Looks were ok but the protection factor is at the bottom of the bar. "my opinion"

Concur with the MoCo offerings. I think most of the stuff the MoCo sells is made in China also.

i live here in mohave valley, arizona, 18 miles for laughlin. went there on the 2003 run and bought a vest, turned out to be foxcreek. next year bought a jacket, also turned out to be foxcreek, well the next year i needed chaps and new that they would have to be foxcreek. there leather is top notch quality, also bought a pair of gaunlet and regular gloves, there not the most expensive but i feel you get way more than you pay for. my brother-in-law bought his chaps, vest and jacket form mexico, he lives in simi valley, calif, for $80.00, his leather vest is about a thick as a t-shirt and he didn't even want me to check out his jacked, i think he had his leather chaps folded up in his pocket.

I just bought a jacket from Chilhowee Leather. Excellent quality and very reasonable price. I ordered it on Wednesday afternoon and it arrived Friday morning from Oregon (I live in New York). Chill is a Contributor to this forum as well.

I second Royce and 56maynard

Langlitz are the best. The most functional ridingjacket made. Quality second to none.

Expensive??? Its relative, you buy Langlitz once. Plus this is only thing related to our bikes that actually worth more ten or twenty years from now.

My wifes and I jacket and pants (not chaps)are goatskin. They felt broken in the first time I wore them and just get better with time.

Keep two on the ground
