Harley-Davidson 1/2 Mile Leather Jacket!

I have had several leather jackets and this half mile leather jacket from Harley is the best!
Thick soft skin that wraps around your torso and feels good like a ladies touch :-)

Also, the old competition jacket from Harley is really good.

I'm also looking for a leather jacket, and I want CE protection also. Crank creek, does offer a leather jacket with CE pads. I do not know of any other leather jackets that offer the protecton also. I'm looking, yet

Ditto those who say you get what you pay for. Buying either a cheap helmet or cheap leathers is just asking for it.

As for the MoCo, their leathers nowadays are hit and miss. Some of the jackets are as good as you'll find - thick, tough, road-worth leather with beefy zippers, places for padding if you want it, and high build quality overall. Some of the others are poseur-only attire, made in god-knows-where by the cheapest bidder, with thin, low-grade leather, and a 'waxy' feel that borders on vinyl.

Some of the older HD jackets (from late 90's -> 2003 or so) are fantastic, great quality and unique design...buy 'em if you can find 'em.

I found a good deal on a HD Competition II and like it a lot. Soft mid-weight leather with padding and ventilation and a removable linerwhen needed.Seems very well made, has a nice "old school" look and fits great. A Fox Creek is in my future, however.

Alright, I need help. I followed a lot of recommendation for Fox Creek. I'm sitting on a 44 and a 46 size jacket due to their great customer service (another story). 44 is snug with liner, and OK without the liner. 46 fits loosely comfortably with liner, and loosely without. I'm stuck between 2 sizes and I've never owned a leather jacket before. I live in the snowbelt so the liner will come into play.

Should a motorcycle jacket be snug and will it stretch over time? Or go bigger to cover my butt when it will get bigger?

Altho mine is not a Fox Creek Jacket and they do make a quality product,my jacket fits like yours in the cold months when I ride to work in the mornings(25 deg's ),the linner is in, and a sweat shirt, lots of crap in the gun pocket, wallet, garagedoor opener, a bananna,( they bruse easy ) so I stuck with the larger size. When it warms up I open all the vents take out the linner, unzip it a little and the larger fit actually feels pretty cool.

I guess its all personal taste.

I also have a Buco Black Stallion Horsehide, and I am impressed with the quality.

Still one of my favorite biker jackets is some off brand that my best friend bought me, as a replacement for the one the ex-wife nabbed. The thing was under a hundred dollars, but it has held up well and has a wonderful broken in look that only a poorly dye garment can get.
Inexpesive does not have to equate to poor quality.

I'm another one for the legendary horse hide jackets. Super heavy, really nice quality. I used Leatherup for a pair of chaps, but that's it. Legendaryusa for jackets.
