My wife and I stayed at The Penny Motel in downtown Deadwood. We stayed in the Annex across the street. It was clean with decent room size but, 2 weeks before Sturgis, it was 100.00 a night. Parking was across the street ( open parking lot with downhill slant) but we left the bike there for 2 days and nothing was bothered. Trolley stops about a block away, and you can ride it all over.

As for the Franklin's accommodations; I couldn't agree with you more.
The place makes you feel like your back in the '80s and I'm not talking about the 1880s.
I was talking about the balcony right in front of your room. You can sit outside your room after riding all day and kick back and take in the view ( right down main street)Much better view than the stockade, and you don't have to wait for drink service. You just grab your own beer out of your room! And, pretty sure you have to be a guest to sit on that balcony!
As for the decor being dated and such? It is dated, but clean. It's called the Motor Lodge. It's not a five star!
Also, the op asked about secure parking. I tend to prefer having my bike outside my door, rather than so many blocks away ,in a public parking lot. But, hey that's just me. I'm sure any place in Deadwood is fine. The group we go with are partial to The Silverado.
