Default Travel in Canada

Planning a ride from RI to Montreal and back probably via Vermont or west of Lake Champlain via NY. Any suggestions on travel in Canada and Montreal specifically. Bike friendly places to stay, B&B maybe, travel routes, things to see/do, etc.

It's just like traveling in the U.S., except for the units (speed limits on kph, gas in liters, canuckian money, etc).

I enjoy riding Canada. I have crossed it in pieces from Quebec to British Columbia over three different rides. Did the Yukon Territory and just got back from the North West Territories ride. Have not had time to update my signature map yet.

I have found that the restaurants, motels and service stations are very biker friendly. So are the citizens.

In B.C. and the Yukon Territory on the Al-Can folks would pull over to let you pass them with ease on the gravel sections. Never had a car do that on a bad road in the US.

In the past the Canadian dollar was more than the USD. 2 years ago it was even. This year when I changed money I got $100 Canadian for $81 USD. That applied to all my credit card usage also. That made Canadian expenses much cheaper than my travel to there and back in the US portion.

I recommend crossing Canada on the transcontinental Highway One. It is an epic ride for your bucket list.

Canada has some great riding, eh. When you come back into the states, don't stop & take pictures in front of the sign that welcomes you into the US. First thing that entries there mine is 'Terrorist' checking out stuff. They'll check out all your stuff & run a background check. I know this for a fact. LOL

Get the app. Hotel tonight. You can get some quick deals on some nice hotels, use your GPS for speed. Don't go over 15 kph on huge major highways... Eat some Poutine.
