Hi Rocky,
We were planning on heading to Radium Hot Springs (Via RT 95 from Montana) then up the Ice Fields Parkway and Jasper next week. What is your take on the smoke up there right now? Is there a website you can recommend to check on current conditions? We can change our plans and explore Washington State instead and save BC for another year. I'm having a tough time figuring out what's best.
Thanks for any advice you can offer,
Vicky (Brit Biker)

Hi Vicky
It rained last night which may have helped, (unsure about lightening strikes) but first thing this morning I was unable to see across the valley. I will let you know later today how it looks. They brought in the heavy water bombers and the fast response light ones.

This is a site I used when we traveled to the Kootenay area last month. It also contains a link to road closures:
Soooooo.... when I bought the Pan, Robin says "The generator in this is crap, so make sure you always put it on a slow charge every night after you ride it until I sort it out, and don't go out of town until I do"... part of that fix is getting a new Generator, which is in the shop and ready for install....
Did I listen to Robin... Nooooooo.
Soooooo... I head out downtown this afternoon on her and I get close to the coffee shop, at a light, and she craps out....dead battery, and not enough in the Generator to charge it up.....
Sooooo... Dead Battery + Crappy Generator = Push Toy.
I pushed her off the road, and tried to spark it up, but notta..... then got out my trusty Engergizer Power Pack, and hook it up....voilla, green lights.... and I fire it up, and head right back to the office.... but the Bunny did not have enough electricity in her, and she stopped beating on the drum.... and motorcycle stops running.
Sooooooo, Rocky has a 65 year old Push Toy and works his way back to the shop, one block at a time..... Sorry no pictures.... because I did not have my cell on me, I left it back on Darla2.
Darla3 is booked for the Generator this week, I will put in a new battery just to be sure, the Bunny is being charged.... and I have increased my tools that I carry.
I actually had a lot of fun doing all that. Got a lot of smiles from the passers by.
