Right now I am sorting how to make a set of foot pegs work for the pan. Not so easy. The foot pegs on it are to far away for me. I called J&P and The don't have any quick fix. I may need to fab something up ..... my brother is good at that, but he lives on Vancouver Island.

Big smokey backwards burnout competitions??

Where I noticed I could have really used it was up in Alaska/Yukon in loose gravel parking lots when I was loaded. I can't see riding in and backing out as a habit. I would still back in almost allways and ride out.

There where more than a few times my boots slipped on the gravel and almost lost my balance. I never tipped over once, but my heart did skip a few beats here and there.

Sounds like a good reason to ride to Vancouver Island.

There's a good chance she will be there for the winter. If so, I would put it in the Van and drive it down.

I am pretty sure I won't go the full custom. And it will be the "Restored Tour" route. To do that I need to get the frame done. If so; she needs to be stripped.

The frame would be stripped down to bare metal, the rake removed, primed and painted (powder coated?) and then put back together with the appropriate new bits. To make it a more reliable bike.

I need to find someone who can handle the frame work. I don't want it cobbled together. I have found an outfit in New York State that does partial And full restorations. Just need to confirm details.

The new generator is in. I am taking her in next week and Robin will install it. He is also going see how he can cobble a set of foot pegs on for now.

I had my first Panhead roadside breakdown today. She stalled out at a light (I insist it is over carbureted) and the clutch cable popped off at the same time. I had to push her off the road, of course I was in the far left lane, and go into budget and borrow a few tools to effect repair.

Mental note .... pack a small set of vise grips ...
