Do you like to gamble?? There is the Meadows Race Track & Casino which is pretty nice. Right down the street from that is Tanger outlets which is a huge outdoor shopping mall. Head down the other direction and there is Steel City Harley Davidson. They usually have events and stuff going on during the weekend. Pretty much all 3 places should have something going on especially with the weather warming up. Other than those 3 reasons I don't get out that way much. There's a couple nice restaurants. This bar called Rumfish has bike nights Thursday or @ least they used to. Nice out door patio dining area and pretty good food. About 20 mins from the Meadows casino off 79
Yeah honestly I have no idea what the traffic is like because I've always went up there @ night or mid afternoon on the weekends so I've never really encountered that much traffic.
Right now it is full of construction on the I-70/I-79 junction. Pass on through as I have never been there when there wasn't some kind of traffic mess during business hours. It's a busy place on Saturday with shoppers.
Steel City Harley is nice if you are into the dealer visiting.
Head west to Wheeling if you want some good food and less congestion.
Undo's is superb Italian and you have Cabelas at the top of the mountain with plenty of choices to eat. It's about 30 minutes tops from Washington on I-70 West.
I always avoid Washington congestion and construction if possible but it looks like exiting 19 on to 18 happens in Washington.
If you're not committed to 18 here's a suggestion for a nice and mostly scenic ride. Heading north on 19 past Waynesburg I would suggest turning left on 221 at Ruff Creek and following it all the way to I-70. Pay close attention to signs as 221 merges with other roads only to turn off again, just follow the signs.
(Oh and back in Waynesburg pay real close attention going through on 19 because 19 will be the main road through but a bit before you exit town you have to turn right on a small road which is actually 19. It's barely marked at all and I'm not even sure it's at a traffic light.)
Once on I-70 just follow it west taking 470 bypass around Wheeling and back on I-70 in Ohio to exit 202 and Rt 800 north (which is a really nice road) all the way to Canton. There is a section from Uhrichsville to New Philadelphia where 800 and 250 run together as a 4-lane be careful to exit back to 800 at New Philadelphia then 800 is nice again up to Canton.
Might I suggest an alternate route? US 50 West to just west of Clarksburg, WV then WV Rt. 20 to New Martinsville. Cross the big muddy Ohio and New Martinsville to Hannibal, OH then north on ST. Rt. 7 to Ohio 536 in Hannibal. Hang on tight, there is one lefthander that you have to stop to get around. Hang a left, west again, on Ohio 78 to Woodsfield, OH. Take Ohio 26 north out of Woodsfield to Jerusalem. Then west on Ohio 145 to Malaga. Then you will pick up Ohio 800 north to Canton. Ohio 800 runs with several different roads, i.e. US 250 and some others. watch for the splits. Might I recommend Quinets Court Restaurant in New Martinsville. It's a dandy.

That looks like a great route. I will file it for next time. This go, I plan to be north of there because I want to see Ft Necessary in PA, and I will be spending a lot of time along the Ohio on the return trip about 10 days later.
