I will be traveling over Bear Tooth (no pass needed) then in to Yellowstone and down to Jackson and the Tetons. Not sure how many places I would need a pass to get in and if the passes will be the same or separate. When we are in the Hills we get a ten dollar pass that covers all the roads we travel, is that the same concept?

I didn't find anyplace in the Black Hills where my pass would work. The places I went were State or private.

A National Parks pass (link above) is good for a year and gets you into ANY National Park but not State Parks. It is well worth it if you think you will visit more than a couple of parks over a year. One Family Pass is good for two motorcycles (hubby & I ride our own bikes).

If you are trying to figure out if it is economically worth it to you to buy a park pass, you will need to figure out how many national parks you are visiting in the year. I believe if you pay for one park, the receipt for that park is good at other parks within seven days. I have a national parks senior pass that allows me to enter all national parks without paying a fee for the rest of my life. I think one is eligible for a senior pass at age 62.

If you buy the annual pass you Can use it at Devils Tower, Wind Cave and Jewel Cave in the Black hills. Camping in Forest Service campgrounds is usually discounted too.

The Annual Pass is valid for 12 months from purchase month. If you buy them in August they will be good next year in August. I bought one in 14 at the Badlands. I did 10 national parks on that trip. Last year, me and a buddy went to CO. The pass was still good till then end of August. We both got in free.

Not so. If you pay for one park and keep the receipt, you get into the other ones within seven days without an additional fee. The annual parks pass though is worth it.
