Way to go! I had a shorter ride yesterday with 12 other bikes. We rode across the Golden Gate Bridge and met up with the other bikers in legendary Sausilito, CA and rode over to Stinson Beach on the coast for lunch Not a long ride but scenic. It was too early for lunch but we ate anyway. Then up to the top of Mt. Tamalpais, where one gets a spectacular view of the entire San Francisco Bay Area. Then a quick stop at the Golden Gate Bridge scenic overlook and back to the city. Not a long ride but a scenic one. No pics for me but if any of the others send me a pic of two, I'll post them.
Michael Psycle I live in Felton I enjoy going to Alice, restrant
I go to Alice's frequently, and often ride through Felton, too. For those unfamiliar, there is a restaurant known as Alice's at the intersection of CA Route 84 and CA Route 35. On one side of the intersection is Alice's restaurant. On the other side is a convenience store with a large parking lot. Essentially this is the big biker handout for the San Francisco peninsula, especially on weekends. I've often advised others in this Road Trip sub forum to stop at Alice's and sit outside, under towering coastal redwood trees, and have a meal. Just beautiful.
I had a great weekend. I left work at 1100 on Friday and headed over to the Mississippi River area. I rode through Savannah and Galena, and in some of my favorite roads in the area, because around here you just never know when the riding season will end. I got in 309.9 miles.
Saturday I left the house at 0600, and headed south to warmer weather. It was in the low 60's when u left, the roads were wet from an overnight shower, and the sun was nowhere to be seen. I rode to Quincy IL, then into Missouri and up through Iowa. Temps were in the low 80"s, and I was in a tank top!! I got home at 1830 hours, and the sun was nowhere to be seen. I got in 533.3 miles.
Sunday I slept in, but was on the bike by 1130. I rode through a few state parks today: Castle Rock, Starved Rock and Buffalo Rock. The sun was out for about half the day and it only reached the mid 60's. I got home at 1730 hors and rode 280.6 miles.
The bike is filthy, but it likes to be rode not washed.
1123.8 miles in 3 days.....and lots of happiness.

Great thread! Love the pics you took. Being on call and still doing what you love=win-win!!
So here is a little known fact. Why did Palm Springs become a desert resort town? The answer is location. Hollywood actors of the 1920's and 30's were under contract to the big movie studios. Part of their contract said they were "on call" could not go further then 120 miles from Hollywood without permission as they might be needed for the shooting of retakes. Palm Springs was just a bit under 120 miles and thus became the place where Hollywood actors would go to party or have secret affairs. It became quite notorious for this.
jeffro - You are under an even tighter restriction and still have managed to get in all these miles. Nice going.

On call for 2 weeks, off for 6, so I make the most of the off call time.
Beautiful day today, unbelievable weather for November. Took off at 0900 and headed for Wisconsin. Got home at 1630, only because the wife wanted to go out with her sister and her husband.
