I spoke to a friendwho rode from NJ to NV, he had a problem getting high test gas along the way. Suggested octane booster. Has anybody heard of this?

Unless you have a really hot build an occasional tank of 87 wont hurt anything,was coming back from possum kingdom lake (west of fort worth) a few weeks ago and allmost all the gas stations had no fuel we were running low I was finding out how far I could go with that light on,when we hit the first station that had gas they only carried 87 octane,I filled up and had no problems 07 egc with D&D slip ons no other mods,at my next fillup went back with high test..
