Wind therapy.
I headed out at 11:30am. I went over to Mount Carroll and jumped on 78 north and took it all the way up to Black Earth, Wisconsin.
Topped off the tank in Black Earth, grabbed a soda and some peanut butter M&M's, and sat at an outside table to enjoy them.
Of course setting the clocks back meant the sunset arrived early.....or something like that.
This is the new 5pm.
Only got in 5 1/2 hours. Saw 68 degrees. Couldn't have been happier.
On the road by 12:30pm.
I didn't get off the bike unti i got to Savanna, and I got there via 125 miles of curvy roads.
A view up river, from where I stopped.
A view, from the bridge, looking up the Mississippi River, looking at the Palisades State Park, on the right.
There were two Bald Eagles sitting in a tree, just south of the bridge.
They didn't mind me at all.
I fear this may have been the sun setting on my riding season.
Beat the hell out of working.
Miles on the bike, after 5 seasons of riding. This has been my lowest mileage season total since 2015, when i bought my first Harley.
I hope the season isn't over, but I have a feeling the salt trucks will be out in force this weekend.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Today's Veteran's Day weather sucked. It was rainy and cold this morning, and any thoughts of a Harley ride were all but gone.
I started my day with a breakfast for area Veteran's, at our high school. One of the gentlemen served in World War Ii, and is 100 years old, but you'd never guess that.
After breakfast I went home and eventually got in my M3 cardio workout. After that, it was nap time with one of the cats....G2, our feral tom.
After my nap I showered and got ready to do, well nothing actually. But, while getting ready the sun came out, things dried up, and I decided to get Limited out to at least fuel it up. The winds were howling, at 20 mph constant speeds, so I wasn't really thinking I'd be taking a ride.
Ready to roll.
Thanks Brandon.
47 degrees, so heat was welcomed.
Jacket went to level 2.
FYI...there is a Shell station less than a mile from my house.
I hate to see them locked up and unable to run free. I'm at 18,321 miles this season. 5,773 of those miles were on the Night Rod. While thats the most miles I've put on the Night Rod in a season, this has, thus far, been my lowest mileage season since buying my first Harley.
