Adventures with the "Scorpios"
”ONLY in Ontario, Canada”
The temperature on Tuesday May 31st - 30C (86F)
The temperature on Wednesday June 1st - 14C (58F)
Thats a 28F difference in one day and like I said “ONLY” in Ontario.
Now today at 9:50 am, June 2nd it’s 12C (54F) and rain in the forecast, so another planned Thursday ride to the Central Tavern in Paincourt for “Bike Night” cancelled.
Hope fully someday we will get to ride!
Cheers, Terry

So, yesterday my friend Mark contacted me to say that on a Sunday ride his wife Emma’s bike had broke down on a day trip they were on. As luck would have it one of the fellow riders knew a Harley Mechanic in a remote area and small town north of Waterloo Ontario. The mechanic had it repaired in short order (Broken ignition wire to the battery). With rain in the forecast yesterday we loaded up my trailer and proceeded to Wellesley, Ontario to pick up her bike. Was a nice day trip with good conversation and used up another day of retirement lol.
I added some photos. Enjoy!
Cheers, Terry
Main Street, Wellesley, Ontario. Taken outside the restaurant we grabbed some lunch at. Great food here!
The Harley Mechanics Shop in Wellesley. “Givy’s Motorcycle Repair”
The truck and the trailer outside the shop ready to load up and head for home.

The weather has still been so unpredictable here lately that planning rides is becoming a difficult thing.
Our friends left on a ride the other day, sunshine and all, only to get caught in a downpour on the way home. Welcome to Southern Ontario!
So, I took the opportunity yesterday to finish up the painting of the inside of the trailer.
All cleaned up and just the wheel bearings to check prior to our September trip to the “Lake of the Ozarks”.
I have attached some final pics. Enjoy!
Cheers, Terry
Started the Harley up yesterday prepping for a ride hopefully today. (Once again weather permitting).
I noticed that one of my passing lights lamps was not working, so proceeded to take it apart to assess the issue. Figured the bulb was burnt out, so went out and purchased a new one. I was amazed, they actually had one at our local Canadian Tire store. (H3 55W - $5.99).
Replaced the bulb with new and still lamp did not work. So, it was time to check the internal fairing wiring for a break. Once I pulled the fairing I found the connector for that lamp was loose. Snapped it back in and success!
The surprise is what I found inside the fairing once I removed it. The mice had a field day in there this past winter in the 55 degree heated mancave. Thankfully all the wiring was intact, cleaned it out, and re-installed the fairing.
Here are some pics of what I found! This won’t happen again next winter the little annoying bastards!
Cheers, Terry
Mouse nest and feces fell out of the fairing.
Another photo.
Damn annoying little varmits!
Finally! The weather co-operated and got the chance to ride yesterday. I went out for a quick half hour scoot to check the temperature. Once away from the lake there was a 10 degree difference in the temp. So went back and picked up Suzie, and away we went for a nice leisurely ride south down river. Stopped along the way for some pictures.
Enjoy!
Cheers, Terry
First stop was at a park on the St. Clair river just south of Sarnia and right across from my old homestead the Shell Refinery
A Great Lakes freighter heading south bound on the St. Clair river between Michigan and Ontario. This freighter is carrying iron ore (coal) to the Detroit Edison Plant.
Two ships passing each other on the St. Clair river.
Couldnt resist taking a photo of the place I hung my hat for 27 plus years. Shell Refinery, Sarnia, Ontario.
Added this photo I took a few years ago of the refinery. This photo was taken from the US side of the border in Michigan.
This photo is south of Courtright Ontario and is the remains of the Lambton Generating Station (Ontario Hydro). Our government banned the use of coal in Canada.
This is a closer up view of whats left of Units #1 & #2. Units #3 & #4 have already been demoed and removed. The two buildings at back are the remains of the Scrubber Buildings which were used to reduce emissions while it was under operation. Rumour has it they will remain and be used for another project.
Rocky will like this photo! That is a coal burning plant right across the St. Clair river in Michigan. Apparently our government must think there is an invisible wall between our countries that wont allow carbon emissions to come in to Canada! Some kind of joke Im thinking.

WOW! Another scorcher yesterday outside the man cave. 35C (thats 95F for our American friends) and very very humid. No riding today. Kept the doors and windows closed on the man cave and kept it at 76F in there. Weather cooling down on Thursday and the ride to the Central Tavern in Paincourt, Ontario for bike night is on!
Stay tuned for the pics!
Cheers, Terry
Last night we finally made it to Bike Night at the Central Tavern in Paincourt, Ontario.
Good crowd, great entertainment and good food.
Six Harleys, and nine riders.
The first of hopefully many great rides and memories with great friends!
Enjoy the pics!
Cheers, Terry
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
An awesome today here today in Southwestern Ontario. Low humidity and warm temps.
So took the opportunity to clear out the mancave, clean up and repaint the floor.
A days long adventure but had been on the list to do this year.
Time for riding to take the front seat!
Cheers, Terry
Big undertaking but glad to have it finished.
