Hello all! I am going to be attempting the Iron Butt 1000 on labor day weekend. I have a group of 4 that will be going. Anyone want to join? We will be leaving Central Va and making a round trip to get the 1000mi.

I have done a few IB rides with just one other rider and a couple with several riders. Just my observation...the more riders, the longer the ride usually takes.
Group rides tend to want to stick together and slows things down when stops get out of sync. Establish some rules with respect to stop numbers and time spent at each stop. Also pencil in a rule that if one rider wants to stop for, say, a full sit-down meal, the others can go on without the other(s).
just did the saddle soar 1000 and followed up the next morning with bun burner 1500
we did it with 6 of us and had a blast!!! your definitely going to be running into the night with the shorter days...it took us 15 and half hr to go 1062 miles we ended up doing another 200 on day one then 6am the next morning we finished up the last 250..
we left at 4am and hit the hotel in Jamestown Nd around 10pm only took 10 min breaks every 160 miles..our average speed was 85mph (speed limit is 80 in Nd)

Where are you going? Whats your route? I might be interested if you are seriously asking.
Stay hydrated, stop when need gas, don't push beyond limits and own comfort zone, and eat light snacks vs whole meal. Above all, have fun. And don't forget to get time-stamped receipts!
I am leaving Vinton Va and going down to the Myrtle Beach area, swinging up to Norfolk area then back around. We are now using it to raise money for Harvey Relief.
