If you go on youtube and type amtrak autotrain motorcyle there will be several videos showing loading and unloading along with other stuff to see.

I live in Orlando. Been loading the bikes on the Autotrain 2 or 3 times a year for about 8 years now. I always get the roomette. Once got the bedroom on a special and it was nice. For best rate info ck Amsnag at https://biketrain.net/amsnag/amSnag.php The station identifiers are SFA for Sanford station and LOR for Lorton Va. I have rarely had a problem, when I do is is caused by weather usually. I currently have tickets for June, gonna ride the Parkway. They like motorcycles and have never suffered any damaged equipment. Don't forget to tip the Porter. Hope this helps.

I have used it twice heading North. Once on a bike and last summer took family to DC in car. Took the train and drove back. I enjoy it but enjoy the ride back on the Blue Ridge Parkway better. Very well run train. I will use it again.

I live in Orlando. Used the AutoTrain once (usually choose to ride north if I'm going that way) and loved it. First time on a train, so it was a novelty for us. We got the roomette. Very small, but adequate for us to get a good night of sleep and hit the road the next morning. Try it!
