I have been to see Dave Walksler quite a few times. On my 4 corners trip it would be a major diversion off of my planned trip to go to Nat. Mot. Museum. Is the museum in Anamosa worth an extra 2 -3 days?
I've been to both and the Nat Museum was good and I'm glad we went. I felt the Wheels through Time was outstanding and really knocked my socks off. I spent over 4 hours in the WTT and about 2 hours at the Nat Museum. if you're in the area definitely stop by but I wouldn't make a special trip to go there. If you do go, there's an Open House at J&P in June - the two together might be a worthwhile weekend.
Don’t forget motorcyclepedia museum in Newburgh, NY. It and wheels thru time are both great. They have one large room dedicated to Indian. In fact they have more space dedicated to Indian Larry, than his show room was!
To answer your question about Anamosa, I have been there, it’s worth the visit but not sure I would go out of route 3 days if there was some good riding I could be doing?
Thanks to everyone for their comments. I think it better if the next time I go to Sturgis I will go to Anamosa (which looks to be a neat town in and of iteself) and to the HD Museum again... which of course means that my butt has to recover from the 4 corners trip.
