500 is sustainable for me. Did 850 once because I had waaaaayyyyy to much fun on my last night in Panama City and I had to be at work Monday morning.

Hey, man! Saw your screenname and figured it was you before I even read the rest of your reply.

Crap, it was nine years, maybe....I did Seattle in 2008. I think Philly was 2010. How time flies...

for traveling days I plan on 500 a day. I know I can do that and still stop for real meals, look around alittle and be off the road pretty early. I have done lots of trips this way. If im site seeing or cruising the mountains I might go 200.

I like to trailer my bike about 500 a day, keeps the miles off so I got a good trade in value

I've found that my "miles per day" is typically limited if I'm camping compared to staying in a low rent motel. Setting up and breaking down camp takes a bit of time, compared to what needs to be packed for a motel stay.

Even then, when I run low on money I head out to the interstate and stop at a Home Depot or Lowes that have display sheds (after closing); pull the bike in, crash for the night and wake up 60 bucks richer

Around here those sheds in the parking lot are infested with black widows. You're a brave man

I go by hours per day. The mileage speed dependent with 10 hrs on slab way different than SR. I don't like to go more than 10 hrs anymore but did do 11.5 once last year just to get back in w/o spending another night out.

I used to do 7-800 miles the first day then 5-600 every day after on my trips. I've always been on limited vacation time so trying to cram in a lot of areas meant a lot of miles. Then the thought hit me...…...I've missed a lot of good sights and places by cramming so many miles in. So the last vacation the wife and I took we did the usual 7-800 miles the first day to get in the general area we wanted to see, then backed way off and enjoyed the sights. We just picked one area we wanted to see, rode there and had a blast seeing things we would have missed otherwise. The older I get the harder those high mile days are on me.

No clue what you mean.... Crossed Texas twice on the shadow 1100 back in the 90s. Not sure I want to do that even on my road king now. For sure not in one day
