New member here but not new to Harley Davidson and I know this has probably been discussed before. I have tried to plan routes using locations; I have planned routes using waypoints; I have planned routes using locations then changing them to waypoints. What I have found is, when I transfer from computer to bike, my routes are fragmented into multiple segments and when I try to change from locations to waypoints, the route on the map goes crazy. It's a complete mess. So, I use the Harley Davidson GPS unit only as a backup map and for gas stops. If anyone knows a workaround or has an app, other than Google, that will fix this please let me know. Thanks!
I just completed trip from TX up to UT and the five National Parks there. The complete trip was done in Harley Ride planner. Each day was saved as a route, containing one start and one stop point. Along the each daily route were multiple waypoints. I also made same route on Google and printed out daily maps prior the trip. I had no issues with the routes transferred from my computer to the bike via blue tooth. using the HD App.
Highly suggest do not convert waypoints from stops. A waypoint is a point in the middle of the road..Ensure you're zoomed in on HD planner so the waypoint is in center of road your traveling.

Welcome Sir:
Which bike do you have - Boom system. The new boom will work well with Harley Ride Planner.
Might I suggest you plan the route and save it in ride planner. Then, use the app to send t to your bike
Thanks for the post. I have 2020 Road Glide Special with the BOOM GTS. I have done it both ways - computer & app - and have spent entirely too much time on it. Out of frustration, I posted on here. Prior to this bike, I had a 2015 with the previous version of BOOM. I very much like the GTS versus the other. I tried routing with a beginning / end point, then attempted to move the route to the road(s) I wanted to travel - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I planned a ride using location to location and it worked except that each location became it's own plan and was a jumbled mess. After reading a few posts, I tried to use "locations" then change them to "waypoints" and the planner reconfigures my ride. Guess I just am not savvy with this type of technology.
You might take a look at Garmins BaseCamp. Especially if you are not married to another mapping software package. I find it MUCH more intuitive than Rude Planner. Just lay out your routes on your computer, export to a flash drive, import to your GTS, load and away you go!
