Beartooth Ralley road trip
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...l#post20064012
I decided to tent camp there and back. We rented a VRBO (Rock Inn, Red Lodge, Mt) while there. That was the best choice ever. 2br finished, walk out basement, of a beautiful log home, with the landlord and land lady living above. Absolutely fantastic folks.
Mileages listed here are approx, but total miles of the trip was 3,369, over 10 days.
First stop was Fernly NV., at Desert Rose RV park. We chose mostly RV parks for shower convenience.
Day one, approx 500 miles,
I was told there was a guy there with a Pan America, but didn't get a chance to see it. Didn't cool off til about midnight, but otherwise slept pretty good. Camp site nothing special. Tent is a Big 5 sporting goods, 5x7', and worked pretty well, all things (price) considered.
Night 2 was North Bingham county park, in Shelley, ID. Again approx 500 miles covered. I could figure exact miles but am too lazy. Total one way distance was 1,360 miles and I wanted day 3 to be easy, relatively easy.
Camp there was a little more cozy, and a lot closer to shower and bathroom.
You. An see my bike in upper part of this pic, and the showers in the right corner
This was from the bike, before the tent was up. At first I parked right next to the tent, till the young park attendant told me no vehicles on the grass. Lol, I tried.
Driveway was a huge circular. This was the left side. We entered on the right and came out this side to ride. Did I mention the owners were riders too?
This is the right side, and entrance from the street. We spent evenings on the balcony.
And our parking spots. My bike on the left, cousins in center and the owners RG on the right.
This place is about a mile outside of Red Lodge. Perfect for us, not in the middle of all the hubub.
Will have to add another post later with some Beartooth Pass pics. Need to transfer them from my phone. The VRBO owners led us thru one of the poker runs. Here is a shot of us all at the last stop. Yours truly in the ran shirt, front and center. My cousin (actually my wife's cousin) and his wife on the left, amd the VRBO owners on the right. Did I mention they were fantastic folks?
For the shots of the rodeo, I refer you to the sportster forum https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...l#post20064012, rather than repost them. I had more, but you get the idea.
Will try to post more pics this evening

First nights stop Eden Idaho. Many small town in ID seem to use a grid system that confused the crap out of the Boom NAV system. Both times, and only in ID I had to call the places for directions from wherever the heck I was.
This place you parked on the grass right beside your camp site. I liked that. I had made a kickstand puck for just this purpose. No pic of it, but I used a used up 7" masonry blade for my circular saw and welded 2 pieces of 1/2" steel tubing, about 4" long, at angles like the ones the dealer uses. I sprayed bed liner on it For better grip and rust protection. Its now covered with spray on rubber.
This was the only campsite I got rained on. Not a hard rain but enough to show me areas I need to address and that the tent did not leak. That puddle on the rainfly was one area I need to address.

This little guy was wiped out from riding the hardtail in the next photo.
This would wear me out too.
A local eatery. Served a great breakfast.
A few of the more colorful bikes in town. Guess these old guys have no need to worry about paint.
