Default Utah

Some friends and I have been rolling around the idea of a Colorado/ Utah trip.Ive been nominated planner for the Colorado/Utah leg. Some of the guys would leave out from Ga a few days before the rest of us. They are retired and have unlimited days off. We would most likely meet up in Durango. We want to include the million $ hwy and ride some good roads in UT. Everyone wants to go through Monument Valley and see the Forest Gump area. Does this look like a good scenic ride or would it be best to go south through Moab on 191? I hear UT12 & 24 are good. 2 of us will only have max 14 days available. Us 2 typically can make 6-700 mile days traveling together to and from.
How does this route look from those experienced in this area?

You might swing through Moab to see Canyonlands National Park. It is unique.

After you leave Monument Valley and head towards Durango, don't forget about 4 Corners ( like I did ). We stayed in Monticello and headed south to Blanding and picked up 95 up to 24 ( Hanksville ).Highly recommend this road. When I was there 2 years ago, Arches was the only park requiring reservations...

Weve been to Co and Utah numerous times. There is so much to see and spectacular riding in both states. I would probably skip the southern part of the trip for another time and concentrate on Colorado and Moab Utah area. There are lots of amazing rides between Durango and Glenwood Springs/Grand Junction. I much prefer GS to GJ and then around Moab. If you do make it to the Zion/Bryce area, Ive attached a few things for you all. LMK if you have any questions, we just did this trip last year to many of the areas you want to ride. Monument Valley is cool to visit once.

Just North of the Gump area, you would not be disappointed at stopping at Goose Necks State Park and then going North a couple more miles for Moki Dugway. At the top of Moki Dugway, if the dirt/dust is not too bad, go west on Muley Point Road to the end. An experience you would never forget.

I appreciate all the info and links. I’ll digest this as I have time. Thanks!

This right here.

Utah is the state that I cannot wait to get back to. Moab is right in the heart of so much to see / do.

UT-12 is epic - one of the most spectacular rides I've ever experienced.

I have NEVER had a problem, but if my wife is with me, there are a couple of stops i have made where she felt “uneasy”. Especially Kayenta. I have stopped there numerous times and never had anyone mess with me or my bike, but there will be several approach you asking for money. AGAIN, i have never had an issue. I was more worried in downtown Cincinnati than i was here.

This too. A lot of people are put off by Moki Dugway but I've had no problem with it in either direction and really enjoyed the route. I've absolutely enjoyed 12 also.
