I've always wanted to stay at Topoco Lodge; it is a beautiful location!!!

I've stayed in Townsend, Cherokee and Gatlinburg and I think the Holdiay Inn at Cherokee has been my favorite. It has a little age on the rooms but it is very clean, the staff is great and friendly, and most importantly they have a great resturant! Breakfast Buffet in the morning and Seafood buffet or Prime Rib at night!

We always stay in Pigeon Forge at tha Mountain Trace Inn on Wear Valley Road. It's about a 250 mile round trip to Deals Gap, Cherohala to Telico Plains and back to Pigeon Forge. You can get the map off tailofthedragon.com Trolley runs right by to Gatlinburg (If you like adult beverages) till midnight. Mels Dinner is across the road (open all night) along with plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distances. Get back on the next day and go north (Sevierville) over to Tn 339 and follow it to I40 and down to Maggie Valley and back thru the park to Pigeon Forge on day 2. Two good days and other than dealing with Park traffic on weekends, it's hassel free.

The best place you can stay near the Dragon for the Buck is Iron Horse Lodge. Nothing can top it. plenty good food and friends. stay in the cabins or the Bunkhouse, All new and John and Charlotte are their to make you feel at home. I have staye and the deals gap,Kickstand, two. all good but Iron Horse is the place.

I don't think they serve any adult beverages at Iron Horse if that matters. Some riders (me) like and evening beer or 3 with my steak if I'm off the bike for the day.
