Springtime in Tejas
If you live around the Houston area and want to get away for a few, head t Chappel Hill, TX. Less than 2 hours from town up Hwy 290, then turn right onto Main St. (at the light in town) and another right onto FM 1155, that'll take you Washington on the Brazos State Park.
The Main to FM 1155 is fantastic right now! Just hills, curves, horses & blue bonnets.

An abbreviated ride for Houston riders...almost gonna miss flowers for this Spring..
From south shore of Clear Lake (mis-named ) we went out the "back way" side roads to Katy then Brookshire ( in this case "back" roads are at LEAST 6 lanes). Exit for 359 and up to Hempstead and pick up 1448 to Magnolia. Nice roads, light traffic, farms, sweepers. How you get back is up to you, but there is NO good way. We had a burger at Magnolia Diner and it was pretty good...it is an old place...in business over a year.
Around the Gulf Coast we really have to work at finding good rides that don't take a 5 hour ride to find first curve. John
