yes its the cafe near woodside california..... our tour starts in vegas...then onto...mammoth lakes...el portal.. san francisco..monterey...pacific highway...few stops down there. palm springs...laughlin...then back to vegas..
yknow, that is going to be a heck of a ride. lots of fun in that route.
I am in the Monterey area and do go to Alice's a few times per year and it's a great ride. Make sure you take highway 9 through Felton to get there. This way you wills ee the redwoods. You should also try to see Santa Cruz as well and if you wanna see soem nice places while in Monterey, check out the warf, maybe ride Big Sur and also you shoudl do a ride through Carmel Valley and the Cachaua loop.
+1 on Cowboy speak. I live on hwy 9 just north of Felton and know this to be a great riding area. You may want to take a slight detour through Big Basin Redwoods state park on hwy 236 from Boulder Creek back to hwy 9. It will add about 30min. to your loop but is well worth it to see some really big trees! Have a safe and great ride!
yeah...were really looking forward to this trip...
should be a real blast....
looking at our itinerary we should be visiting alices cafe
on thurs 23rd july...dont know exact numbers of people
on our tour as yet....
as for the fog...we dont really get that much...i think you
guy,s have been watching too many old movies...lol
Keep in mind we get some serious fog here but it isn't what the rest of the US calls fog, it's more of a thick marine layer at 1000 feet or so. You can be riding from inland where it is in the 90's and a few miles from the coast it drops to the low 60's so be prepared. Alice's is right on the fog line so on a foggy day it will be sunny there and cold on the coast. Our summer on the coast starts in September through November.
Hey Gascap...I like the ride through Big Basin but the 1st time I did it was on my long bike...not easy...but the redwoods are kewla nd the Britts should like seeing them...
Here's something you should try.. after leaving Alice's, head west on highway 84. After about 7 miles (on a great riding road) you'll hit the town of La Honda, that's not much more than a wide spot on the road. On your left, just after you pass the fire station and general store on the right, you'll see a watering hole named "Apple Jack's". Check it out, I highly recommend it.
It's actually been a few years since I was at Alice's. These days I prefer the Canyon Inn in Redwood City or the Rosotti's (now the Alpine Inn) in Portola Valley. Just my personal preference though, no real reason behind it.
