Looks like you are going down 84 from Alices to Highway 1, the Pacific Coast Highway. After hitting the coast, its another 29 miles south to Davenport, a wide spot in the road, where you will find the Whale City Bakery. Pretty good place for breakfast, coffee, muffin, beer or what have you. I was there yesterday and around 10 Harleys pulled in, followed by a motorcycle tour operater in a passenger van with a trailer. The riders were all German speaking. Also ran into another group of Germans at Alices. Its definately on the map.
Don't know if you are going further than Monterey and Carmel, but further south is Big Sur...really spetacular coast. Sounds like a great trip.
