Didn't mean to scare you, but HWY 401 is a 16 lane highway through most of Toronto. 4 lanes of collectors and 4 lanes of express in each direction. The potholes can swallow a bike tire. If you are not used to it, there is at least 50 miles of watching for holes, trucks and lane jumpers. If you are from L.A., no problem, if from a small city, watch out, or take smaller roads.

Hey Scout, What is the posted speed limit on most Canadian highways? I want to be up to speed on my mph to km conversions.

The 400 series highways (similar to your interstates) are 100 km per hour, or 60 MPH.

Secondary higways are 80 KPH, or 50 MPH.

Streets in towns are 50KPH, or 30 MPH.
