Not sure if I'm in the right place for this, but here goes.
I'm living in California but looking to move. The things I'm looking for seem to be in Sioux Falls, like work and cheap housing. My big concern is the winter month's. I love riding and know there's some great riding there, but will I only get 3 Month's to ride? Hope that made sense.,
i put my bikes away a week before thanks giving this year and if all goes well and we have a mild winter i hope to have them out sometime in march, I was able to ride this last march but its not a gurantee.

That's not bad. I was thinking June to Aug, Sept was it. Glad you piped in.
Me too, I'm looking at Cheyenne WY as a possible new home.
Interesting Cheyenne was on my short list. So was Idaho but I've lived here pretty much my entire adult life and just want to get the hell out. The thing that I'm concerned about is how these old bones will tolerate winters. I can't remember the last time I had to 'do' winter. Hell, it's 52 degree's right now and I'm thinking of putting on a jacket.
GL with your move... I hear Redding got hit hard by this economy "setback". Same here.
even up here in west central mn. the first riding is normally in march. by may it's fairly normal to have good riding weather.I rode 100 miles on nov. 9 th with only normal gear. however june to sept. is the prime season.so figure you'll have half the season but it's twice as good!
I got mine out in March this past spring. I rode it and cleaned it up a week before thanksgiving. This was a good year. But i would say you have 6 good months of riding
Move to southern Utah, ride year round. Then do the annual ride to Sturgis from here. It's our version on mecca. We never put our bikes in storage for the winter. I can be in nevada riding in sunshine in 20 minutes, in AZ in 2 hrs, in cal on the beach in 7.

Nothing new here, Redding has been a third world economy for 20 years... We took the big hit years back when the lumber industry got hit... never recovered from that...
