I will be in Fredericksburg, Tx. for the weekend 27 - 29 May. I have the basics for Hill Country riding. 3 Sisters, Willow City Loop. M/C museum in Vanderpool, Lukenbach, Lost Maples. Enough to keep me riding for 2 days. I need some info about where to eat and things to see and do. The OL thinks we have to do something other than ride it like we stole it............ ;-))Any info will be good news for me. Thanks.

Reason: should have included the staqte in the title.
In Leakey TX eat lunch at the Feed Lot at 512 main I think. The best Chicken Fried Steak in TX according to Bon Appetite. Tell the owners some ParrottHead friends in Dallas sent you. Motel 6 in Fredericksberg is not bad and close to Downtown shopping. For dinner go 10 miles north on 82 to the Hill top Cafe, good expensive Cajon food owned by a former Asleep at the Wheel bandmember
If you decide to ride the Willow City Loop, make sure to stop at the Knot in the Loop Saloon. Its just off Rt 16 on the road to Willow City. Cold beer and good burgers. A Classic Texas roadhouse, with a ton of honky-tonk charm.
go to llano on hwy.16...nice ride. when you get there go to coopers b-b-q. this is as good as it gets. the guy at the pit will ask you if you want your b-b-q "wet". the answer is yes...it is the sop they cook it with-not some thick sauce. there is a pot of pinto beans with jalepenos in it--no charge. i do not normally like beef ribs, but i rode 370 miles today for their beef ribs and chicken.
Don't forget Albert, TX and Sisterdale as a stop in for a cold beverage. The little burger joint in Sisterdale does a good job with their food. If you do the Loop go on up and take a quick jaunt up 965 to Enchanted Rock, one of the largest granite monoliths in the country. It's on the way to Llano and Cooper's BBQ where you get your BBQ "wet" as mentioned previously. Oh...if you do the Twisted Sisters make a stop at the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop.
