Check THIS out.

A part of that pages says: "One nite camping is allowed at Kansas rest areas. They have a separate loop to enter from the rest area parking. This loop is paved, has picnic tables with shelters, a dump station, and a freeze fount for water"

That's what I was looking for. Thanks a lot! My Kimber will help me sleep for a few hours, that's all I want to ackomplish.

Glad I could help. Good luck. And just fyi, there is a Harley store right by I-70 in Salina and another here in Junction City right by the interstate, just in case you need to stop for something. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions about this area.

Default Hammock Camping

I did 3 nights in a Hennessy Hammock in Europe. I'm not going back to a tent for just myself. Packs easily, sets up easily, and is waaaayyy more comfy.

That Hennessy Hammock looks slick. What if you show up and your site doesnt have trees to hang it? Also, since I am leaving in a couple days, not sure how I could get one. Maybe I'll check REI tonight. Thanks!

most in the Northwest will allow a sleeping bag but no tent.. picnic tables are the way to go.
