Default Help with planning

First off, the trip will be in 2013 9yeah I plan ahead, touring NZealand this year).

My plan is to buy a RK in Dallas (thats where a good friend lives and he'll do it for me). From there going west to the coast and looping back to the east coast.

The general direction will be Dallas, TX - Albuquerque, NM - SanFran, CA - Sturgis, SD - Milwaukee, WI - Wichita - N Orleans - Charleston, SC - Miami, FL

I am LOOKING FOR A GOOD ROAD MAP where I can plot down a more detailed route and of course suggestions of good rides along that general route (been reading many of the posts here and in other sites).

Oh, planning on about 30 - 35 days.

Create an account at Harley-Daivdson.com and then use the ride planner, I've found it to be very helpful.

Had relatively good luck with the HD planner. There are issues when you try and have a LOT of stops on the same trip. It loaded EACH segment separately onto my GPS.

Good luck on the trip.....the other option I have used in the DISTANT past was AAA.

Thanks for the input guys, the HD planner is pretty good. Its only a general route since I will probably be detouring A LOT.

The most up to day Thomas Brothers map book. It will have every little road in every little city (even a lot of dirt roads). And what, no San Diego, CA on your agenda?

A couple of roads to incorporate into your ride... my two favorite rides.

Hwy 12 in Utah from Panguitch to Hanksville then 95 from Hanksville to Blanding UT

Hwy 12 in Idaho from Kooskia ID to Missoula MT

another nice ride

Hwy 64 in New Mexico between Taos and Cimarron
