Thanks for the tips guys. I appreciate it! Dreamer, You sure you don't live down the street from me? There is a guy with a bike just like yours, but I think he has some massive beach bars though.
We did a 2000 mile trip last month and was looking for a decent bag. As we was going to Daytona for BikeOctoberfest we stopped in at White Eagles and brought the one shown on my bike below.
The top rollbag just unclips so it up to you if you want to use it or not. The bag itself is well made and constructed of heavy leather. It attaches by two wide velco straps around the backrest, I also attach a luggage strap each side to hold it firmly in place. I was amazed at just how 'stuff' we could get in it, and the best bit... after a bit of bartering got it for $70, I call that a result!

One other thing, in the back pocket is a rain cover that completely covers the bag (and the rollbag) and works very well, don't ask how I know !
Looks a bit crooked , but its the way the pic been taken
I bought a Kuryakyn bag no. 4148 off eBay. Gave 96.00 for it, and love it. Fits the RK well. Has plenty of storage. Enough room for a 2 week road trip. 08 Road King
Hey folks. Didn't really know where to ask this question, but figured this is where the experts would be.
Looking for a bag to fit on my RK. Something that will attach to the sissy bar and sit on the luggage rack. Also want it to remain comfortable for the wife to lean back on the backrest so the straps have to be comfortable for her to lean against.
I don't need a huge back and certainly don't want something that is going to be super top heavy.
On our trip to San Angelo this past Monday and Tuesday, a friend loaned us a roll bag that the end opened up on. It was nice and saved our bacon because is allowed me to pack warmer jackets in the hard bags than we'd originally planned on. Good thing we did. But it's not quite roomy enough for things you'd take for anything more than an overnighter.
What are your recommendations? Please keep in mind I'd like to stay around $100.00 or less if at all possible.
Saddlemens makes a couple of bags which will fit on the back of your sissy bar and rest on the luggage carrier. I've used saddlemen luggage for years and highly recommend that brand. They make one bag for $100.00, which I have, and it might work for you. I also have a Road King and use the bag that straps onto the sissy bar and rests on the luggage rack. I also have a Saddlemens that is larger and I use it in front of the sissy bar, but I'm not packing anyone. Used them for thousands of miles in all kinds of weather.
Do a search for the Saddleman S3500 and thank me later. I think I paid around $165 for mine about a year ago. It's far and above the Tbag that I had previously.
Yepper this is the one to get! Best bang for your buck
