I'm from Louisiana and was thinking about making the trip over to Florida just because we finally have some "cool" weather. I've never been to this Rally and want to know if it is worth the time. I will probably only be able to make one day so I need to know when I should make it over.
We've been going the last 3 years, so obviously we like it. I like the way it's set up, there are 4 or 5 differents venues around PCB where vendors are set up, instead of everything in one place like some rallies. Gives you a chance to ride some going from place to place. Also, since PCB is spring break HQ, there are plenty of bars to hang out and partake in some adult beverages. There are a few good rides if you want to get out of town and away from the madness for a few hours. Another plus, is that it's their off season there, so there are deals to be had on rooms unlike Daytona where they jack up the rates. We rent a 2 bedroom condo that sleeps 8 for $115/night for 3 nights with the 4th night free. You can't beat that with a stick. Not sure where in LA you are from, so my only question would be if it's worth the ride to only be there one day. But that is your decision to make.
Saturday is the biggest day most of the time. They have the bike show at pier park Saturday which is always interesting. Wicked Wheel is where the old bikes are being demoed and displayed, good place to eat. if its venders you want to see they are all over the beach but Frank Brown Park has the most, Prost.
I live here in PCB and LOVE the rally. Tons of Live music, good rides, cold beer,Party party party. Unless you act the TOTAL fool, the cops leave you alone, beer specials all over town and the best beaches in America. 50,000+ bikers just having a great time.

Amen to that!! Of all the rallies I have been to, the cops in PCB seem to be the most tolerant! The only thing I witnessed them giving people a hard time for was constant racking of pipes. We were sitting at Shuckum's eating one night and the cops were just standing on the side of the road pulling the idiots over as they passed by. Nothing wrong with loud pipes, but for pete's sake, there's thousands of bikes that are loud as hell to begin with. Do you really need to bang the rev limiter all the way down the beach and back? I say ticket the hell out of them.
8 years between bike week and Biktoberfest in Daytona. I now prefer Thunderbeach. Not for the vendors so much, as Daytona attracts the bigger names, but for the better riding experience. I grew tired of main street in Daytona and DBPD! IMO PCB is more open to ride and meet and greet. And as someone else posted cheaper rally over all as opposed to Daytona Bank, i mean beach! leaving Thursday morning from Biloxi.
I live here in PCB and can attest to the prices here. The week of Thunder Beach, prices actually go DOWN. Most hotels run "Bike Week" specials and most bars run beer specials. What more can you ask for? Cheap beer,Cheap beds and really sweet bikes. Not to sure about cheap women. Mine has cost me a fortune over the years. Oh yea, the beach is great to...lol
Bike is loaded down, brother-in-law should be here in an hour and we are headed out for the 7 hour ride over. This morning I am the definition of a ****-eating-grin, lol!!
