Getting excited for my upcoming trip in may.
I'm leaving NY heading to Kansas City to check out the harley plant, then continuing to Denver, thru the Rockies to Vegas, then head back east thru needles CA to Oatman AZ, staying on old Route 66 to Winslow, then cut down to El Paso, across To New orleans, then to lake city Florida where I will meet up with a friend from NY, then together we will ride thru Atlanta to the smokey mountains/ Tail of the dragon and back up to NY.
I recently got a go pro camera so there should be plenty of pictures.
What a trip!!! However, it appears it's mostly Interstate Hwy's. You sure are missing a lot by doing that. Colorado for example. I-70 is OK in the Glenwood Canyon, but that's not very long. You're missing some great roads and sites by using the Interstate.

No no no! This map is only to show my direction of travel. I will be doing lots of back road riding I have almost 3 weeks time to complete this trip so no rushing here.
Great, glad to hear that. In that case you should have a great trip. My website has lots of routes and photos in Colorado which may help. I'm leaving on May 10 on a 14 day trip through New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. We may cross paths.

Yes indeed. Look out for the black electra glide with NY plates lol
I too am doing a cross country trip May 8th through approximately May 29th- north of Boston to San Francisco and back. We'll hit some of the same places as you will. I love Oatman AZ...been there a few times. Have fun and ride safe!
In eastern Arizona, you really should ride US 191 from Eagar down to Clifton. One of the great roads in America. From Clifton, head east to Silver City, NM, then take state highway 152 east. This is a really fun ride that is scenic with a taste of the mountains. Big Bend is worth a look in Texas. From Big Bend you can slab it for a day to get back to the scenery and good riding.
