Default Sturgis to Glacier

Going to make my first Sturgis run, from Indiana, in 2014, only staying in Sturgis for a few days, then wanting to go on to Glacier National Park. I would like advice on a good route from Sturgis to Glacier, and good things to see along the way. We have about 2 weeks.

Are you camping or hoteling it? Last year I left Sturgis around 9:30 am, took 90 to just past Sheridan, Wy where I picked up ALT 14 into Cody, Cody into Yellowstone, ended up in Mammoth Hot Springs Campground (NW corner). Next day took 89 N to 90, 90 to 93 ( by Missoula), 93 to 35 (east side of lake) to 2, 2 into West Glacier, stayed at Glacier CG (1/2 mi from GNP entrance).
Beautiful country all the way, many different routes could be taken just depends on your time frame, have a good trip.

sturgis to sheridan to cody. chief joseph hwy. to 212 to red lodge, mt. head north from there. somewhere out in montana is a hole-in-the-wall place called two dot montana. there is a well known bar there that hank williams jr.(the bar was well known before he found it) hangs out in. supposed to be worth seeing. we saw a sign to it, but were trying to beat some rain storms and skipped it.

Dan Conner has it right. What is the name of that bar? From 90 you can turn at Timber something and go north to Great Falls in back roads. I like to stay at Shelby. Fun town and than onto Glacier

We did this this summer, Spearfish SD to the Bear tooth HW into Yellowstone and then up to Glacier. It is so worth it if you have the time!
