Check out Cannery Row and the Aquarium..........Since you have some time,do a day ride (or two) down 1. Carmel,Big Sur ,etc.If you're into camping, Fernwood is a great place.Full bar, food, showers and they have a few rooms also.So much to see, have a safe and great trip...........! ROTTEN ROB.............
Ritechur are then gentlemen, thanku for yor reply.
I rode the 1 on my 01 Fatboy (floated it across) 2007 Sturgis tour from Seattle to San Diego after the rally, all those towns down the wstcst were great, Cresent city & Morrow Bay etc then to Ensenada for a few bers.
The reason im looking at Monterey is i thought it were an old music town left over from the 70's, Janis & crew, with old bars & clubs.
Im not a complete new member by the way i just read & watch without loging on, every now & then i get info from the forum to get the 94 Sporty to go faster.
Yosemite would be also a good ride & stay as well yea?
Thanx in advance,

Like was said before Cannery Row. If you use the Mexican restaurant there for free parking, be warned they have trained the seagulls to punish you...LOL
Big Sur is a must in my opinion. Santa Cruz with the Boardwalk is another that is nice. Not too far from Mt Madonna I think it is called also. (Hopefully others can confirm this or get it right.)
Ride south on the PCH through Big Sur to Hearst Castle and back one day, then north through Santa Cruz to Big Basin Redwoods another. Eat fresh seafood while on the coast. Yosemite is well worth the ride, you will never forget it. If you go, be sure to take the road to Glacier Point.

There is only one must see in Monterey- Laguna Seca!
Go during the bike week race and see bikes from the early century on up.
FIM Superbike weekend is July 11-13.
On the way to LA you can stop in Cambria and check out Hearst Castle.
Rocky Point Resort further south is a cool stop with a band and bbq on the weekends. Lots of bikes and classic cars. Incredible view looking Northwest from the terrace.
Just past Rock point is the elephant seal point where elephant seals lounge around before swimming in the ocean and become shark snacks. There is a turnoff and parking lot to facilitate viewing of said seals.
Hearst castle is a great tour but be prepared to spend a lot of time there. There are I think 4 different tours each costing $25 and lasting about 45 minutes but the bus ride back and forth up the hill and touring the grounds will take a lot of time. Realistically plan on a good 3 hours for a tour and add on another hour or so for each additional tour. There is a movie at the visitor center that is about 45 minutes that is worth watching too and the food there is actually pretty good. Be sure to reserve tickets online before you go or you may be waiting hours to go or notget tickets at all.
Thanx for that again, one other thing, i wer over in 2010 & grabbed a Glide thru Eagle Rider LA, are they still a good way to bike hire & get around or should we fly to san fran & get the scooters up ther?
Also accomadation in Monterey or Carmel any suggestions?
